Miramar Beach, FL- While the pandemic has only been with us a relatively short time, it’s no secret that consumer shopping habits have been changing for years.  The pandemic has only sped up the process of a shift away from traditional, brick and mortar retail shopping.

Hank Dawson, Robin King and John McCotter, owners of The Fabric Source, in business since 1995 and in the current location since 2007, recognized that shift and began making plans to convert their operational retail model to a “by appointment only” format beginning December 1st in their new location off County Highway 393 South in Walton County.

Hank Dawson said, “We will still be designing, fabricating, and installing the high-quality window coverings our customers have come to expect from The Fabric Source.  We will consult with our clients in their homes or, for a more complete presentation, in our new showroom, all by appointment.  This model allows us to provide a safer shopping environment and the one-on-one service our clients deserve.  Covid was the catalyst, but we’ve been considering this change long before Covid appeared.”

As the pandemic continues to influence our world, we may find other businesses moving to change their service models as well.

Robin King further explained, “Over the last year and a half, we have had very few new clients just walk through the doors.  Most find us via our online presence, social media, or word of mouth.  Customer service is still our driving principal, just now by appointment only.”

The new location for said appointments will be 416 S. County Hwy 393, Building 8 Unit 1 in Santa Rosa Beach.
